Solum has no server of its own. There is no account and no analytics, and nothing is ever sent to us. When something does leave your device, it is because you chose a feature that needs it. Every one of those features is listed on this page.
Solum can run an AI model directly on your iPhone or iPad. It can also talk to a hosted provider using an API key that you supply. Those two differ in the one way that matters — whether your words leave the device — so the app never hides which is active. Every model carries a mark for where it runs, and that mark stays on screen above the conversation. What a cloud provider receives is set out in the table below.

Keys you add are stored in the iOS Keychain, which the system keeps encrypted. A key is sent only to the provider it belongs to, and only when you use one of that provider's models. It is never sent anywhere else and never included in analytics, because there are none. Deleting a key removes it from the Keychain.
Solum ships with no key of its own. If you never add one, the app never contacts a model provider.
Once a message reaches a provider you connected, that provider's privacy policy governs it — including how long they keep it and whether they train on it. Solum has no control over that and cannot delete anything on your behalf. If this matters to you, read the policy of the provider whose key you are adding, or stay with the on-device models.

There are none. Solum is free, has no in-app purchases, and handles no payments — so there are no payment details for us to receive. If you connect a cloud provider, that provider bills you directly for what you send it; Solum is not part of that transaction and never sees it.
Solum is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone. If you connect a cloud provider, that provider's own terms and age requirements apply to what you send them.
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change ever means more data leaves your device, it will be described here in plain language.
